PROJECT BRIDGES is a campaign based on helping first generation high school students prepare for applying to higher education. As a first generation student, the unique obstacles we face when it comes to college prep were enough to inspire the goal of this campaign, to reinforce the narrative that first generation students deserve the guidance and resources that continuing generation students receive.

THE PROBLEM

According to NCES, about 54% of American students identify as first generation students. Because of this it crucial we address the unique obstacles these students face. Particularly high school first gen students from low-income, immigrant households. This population often lacks college preparation support, leading to lower graduation rates, declining college enrollment, and campuses. While reinforcing the stigma that higher education is unattainable for first generation students.

THE IDENTITY

PRIMARY LOCKUP

ALT. LOCKUP

The alternate represents the factual side of PROJECT BRIDGES. playing off the statistic from the NCES 35% of potential first gen students do not have access to guidance around them. Which is what PROJECT BRIDGES combats.

LOGO MARKS

The primary lockup reflects the unique journey of first-gen students towards higher ed. By combining a handwritten version and structured typeface it symbolizes the fluidity and structure that the mentorship provides for its students

The logo marks fluidity reflects the variation in every students path to college. Some are direct and some take longer but all need guidance, hence the bridge visual. It also combines the I and the D, which translates to Identity, reflecting our mentors and mentees
